Curaçao, with its year round warm and sunny climate is located outside the hurricane belt. This makes Curacao a perfect place in the Caribbean for safe yacht storage during hurricane season

Long term yacht storage at Curacao Marine without time restriction.
Curacao Marine will be obtaining a customs entrepot status , to be able to store yachts without time restriction.
Till now the yachts received a permit for 6 months and could be extended till 12 months maximum. For longer stays the yacht had to clear out and had to make the trip to a foreign port and back to get a new entry.
The new situation will be;
Owner abroad and yacht in storage in the marina or on the yard with the customs entrepot status the yacht can stay indefinite, without the hassle of obtaining permit extensions etc.When the owner and/or crew are coming back to Curacao to make the yacht ready to leave or cruise Curacao they will get a new (cruising) permit for 6 months. This permit can be extended till 12 months maximum, after that, an extension can be obtained when the yacht has been to a foreign port and back, or the yacht can go back in Free zone.
This will be a real improvement for the yachting industry on Curacao.
